Plug-in Hybrids Emerge as Key Growth Engine
While pure electric vehicles remain popular, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have emerged as a critical growth driver. In June alone, PHEV exports skyrocketed by 192% year-on-year. This shift is largely attributed to Chinese automakers utilizing PHEVs to navigate international trade barriers, such as the European Union’s anti-subsidy tariffs on pure EVs.
