Export Becomes the Primary Lifeline Amid Domestic Market Slump

With domestic vehicle sales dropping by 21% in the first half of 2026 due to intense price wars and economic pressures, overseas markets have become essential for Chinese automakers. The export share of total vehicle sales jumped from 19.7% last year to 33.9% this year, meaning that currently, one out of every three Chinese-made vehicles is sold overseas.
